For Science Week Year 4 had great fun finding out about Static Electricity.
Static electricity is the build up of an electric charge on the surface of an object. The reason it is called static electricity is because the charges stay in one area for some time and don’t flow or move to another area.
To test this out we were each given a balloon to rub quickly on different surfaces in order to build up a static charge. We then had to predict what would happen once we placed the balloon near different objects.
The results were fascinating and as you can see from the photos we all had great fun and all agreed how interesting science is!
