This week we are trying hard to understand place value with decimal numbers involving tenths. We used a place value chart and counters to make decimal numbers discussing the whole number and the decimal amount. We realised decimals are used a lot in measures so we thought hard when these numbers may be used. Some of the ideas we talked about were: measuring material to make curtains, time taken to run a race, measuring a distance jumped and money.
