This week Year 4 have been curious about quadrilaterals. A quadrilateral is a 4 sided shape with straight sides. We compared familiar shapes such as squares and rectangles then learnt new shapes such as a rhombus and parallelograms. We discussed what was similar about each shape and what was different. We talked carefully about the lengths of sides, the type of angles, whether a shape had parallel lines or if it had any symmetry. We all tried very hard to use the correct mathematical language during our explanations and all agreed it was good to be curious about quadrilaterals.

Well done Year 4 – a shapetastic week!
