In History, we have learned all about brave Grace Darling’s rescue in 1838. We explored what it would be like to live in a lighthouse in those days and how basic everything was. We acted out the chores which the children in the family would do before they had their school lessons at home. In our outdoor area we investigated why the Forfarshire boat might have sunk. We used toy boats, as well as plastic cup boats which had holes pushed through them. We found water entering the boat could cause it to sink. We also explored how much weight a boat could take before it sunk.
