Today in Maths Year 4 have been practising  their times tables by playing a range of fun games in order to develop speed and accuracy.

As part of ‘No Pen Day’ the children also had to solve problems using known table facts.  They had to talk accurately about answers by explaining clearly to their partners why they were confident their table facts were correct or to convince each other where they had made an error.

The children all tried very hard to use the correct mathematical language in order to explain their reasoning.

Here’s one for you to think about;

Mrs Chapman says 96 is a multiple of 4.

Is she right?

Explain your reasons.
