Year 4 have been trying hard to use apostrophes correctly in their writing for contracted words. A contracted word is when two words have been turned into one. Contractions are usually used when someone is speaking. The apostrophe takes the place of the missing letter or letters.
We had great fun playing contraction pairs and later became the teacher and had to spot when an apostrophe had been used incorrectly which is helping us with our editing skills.
