As part of our Victorious Victorians topic, we visited Beamish to find out about what life was like for Victorian children. First we visited the town and looked at what life was like for middle class children then compared it to the lives of working class children when we visited the pit village.

As part of our day, we experienced what it was like to go to school in the Victorian period. We were shocked at how strict their rules were and how differently boys and girls were treated although we did enjoy doing drill! We will be using what we have learned about the lives of Victorian children in our topic work over the next few weeks.

As always Year 6 behaved beautifully and were brilliant ambassadors for our school.
