This morning, Year 4 entered Hogwarts – the magical school of witchcraft and wizardry. Imagination flowed as we listened to Harry Potter and the Philosopher’s Stone and discussed how the characters were portrayed through description and dialogue. Next, we watched a virtual video inside the different rooms of Hogwarts Castle and made notes about the setting and surroundings. It was a strange and eerie place but equally exciting and this helped us to begin our ‘Magical Writing’.
Our task was to write a detailed account about our day in Hogwarts; describing each room using a wide range of description and imagery. Everyone did a fantastic job and all thought carefully about word choices and sentence openers – J.K Rowling would definitely be impressed.
Well done Year 4 – some magical, mystical and magnificent writing in true Harry Potter style!
