To support our topic work about the history of our local area year 3 went to Birtley Library to visit the Birtley Heritage Group. Before starting our walk around Elisabethville we talked and asked lots of questions about the Belgian refugees who lived there and worked at the projectile factory. It was very interesting and we found out some amazing facts, we even got to go and look at the war memorial before getting the bus back to school. We had an amazing afternoon.
