This week we have been looking closely at instructional texts. We have been spotting features of this genre and discussed what makes a good set of instructions. We even followed a step by step guide to help us make a poppy. As you can see, we read the instructions well and produced some super poppies to wear with pride for Remembrance Sunday. Next week we will be writing our own instructions. We agreed we need to order the instructions, making them clear and precise for the reader. We also decided we must use time words, include lots of imperative verbs, add pictures, include a list of equipment and make them eye catching. Mrs Chapman can’t wait to read them.
