Segedunum Visit

Year 3 visited Segedunum Roman Fort in Wallsend yesterday. We had great fun dressing up as Celts in our woollen cloaks and sitting around the campfire in the roundhouse.  We listened to the story about the rebellion against the Romans led by the fierce Queen Boudicca. We made woollen bracelets, painted our hands with blue patterns and learned our oath ready for our ceremony to become full members of the Briganti tribe.  We also enjoyed exploring the site of the old Roman Fort and looking down at this from  the viewing tower. We especially enjoyed looking around the bath house and seeing the latrines.
