After school had finished for the week on the afternoon of Friday 19th March, a group of school staff and school governors (including parents, councillors and community governors) made their first visit inside the new school building. The whole building was not accessible because half of the floor space was being fitted with a state-of-the-art underfloor heating system. However, this did not stop lots of Oohs and Aahs as the group moved round. The unanimous verdict from the group was that our school is definitely going to be a flagship for our community, for Birtley and also for the whole of Gateshead. There are now a whole lot more very excited people who can’t wait for September to come! The 20 photographs taken during the visit are available to view by clicking on the Image Gallery icon to the right of this page, and then clicking on the Inside the new school #3 – 19 March 2010 link.
